PES 2012 Impressions
Only Pro Evolutions
Snippet:
Seabass uses the term “new version”, which suggests to me that we’ll be getting PES 2011.5 next October – although I believe it’s not necessarily a bad thing. For me, PES 2011 was a highly entertaining game that still to this day, provides me with hours of entertainment. I believe Konami are slowly reaching their goal, and PES 2012 will be a stepping stone on the pathway to eternal glory.

Grayday from PESFAN
Snippet:
2012 isn’t the year for redefinition, but rather refinement. PES 2011 signalled the first steps in a new direction for Pro Evolution Soccer, whilst this year is all about making further progress along that path –and you get a sense of this when you watch the video. Seabass talks of impending improvements, and validates those changes by relating them to current shortcomings. The ‘to camera’ style gives a real sense of conversation and cooperation with the viewer, which is furthered by the references of user feedback, and it having a direct influence on the changes made. The team really want to get the point across that their actions are responses to your requests.

PES 2012 news!?
Exclusive PES 2012 PICTURE!
SEE it says EXCLUSIVE!:D
Sorry about that
.
A lot of people are getting excited over the anticipation of what sort of news Konami will announce (and mainly when). To me the longer it goes the better it will be, as it shows they are working on it and are not rushing the announcement.
So It’s a good thing that Konami have kept quite for so long after the FIFA announcement. ADAM has mentioned that even though everything is hush hush in public, behind the scenes it’s busy!!
May the 4th be with you!

Great Post by rothbart from the sarcasticgamer forums, regarding the PS3 hackage:
I need to ignore Twitter right now… there are tons of people (and site feeds) spewing ignorance galore…
I work at a company that deals with data security… we wish everyone that lost a laptop or left data unencrypted had used our product(s) first. The fact is, NOBODY is impervious to being hacked. It happens all the time to tons of companies. It happens at a much larger scale than the 75M PSN users.
By data breach standards, what Sony has done here is the absolute text book implementation of what to do correctly. They didn’t put protocol aside to keep selling PSN content. They didn’t put protocol aside to let gamers keep gaming, potentially muddying up the systems being scoured for clues. They didn’t try to hide that this happened. They didn’t try to analyze it themselves but instead brought in experts.
The people and sites that are faulting Sony on how they’ve handled this so far are simply, and I mean no disrespect by the use of the very most accurate word I can think of… “ignorant” as to what they’re talking about.
If you think Sony should’ve battened down the hatched and never gotten hacked… talk to the HUNDREDS of other companies/brands/organizations out there that have endured the exact same fate. If you think Sony shouldn’t have been storing credit card information (at all or in a certain way) you should know that all there are now are recommendations or guidelines, there are no LAWS yet that force companies to certain degrees of protection and even if they were adequately protected, depending on the extent and nature of the hack, having them protected to PCI DSS guidelines STILL might not prevent people from getting to our credit card information…
That said, Sony said there was no evidence that our credit cards were compromised. They recommended (and to be honest, this was worded well) that “While there is no evidence at this time that credit card data was taken, we cannot rule out the possibility. If you have provided your credit card data through PlayStation Network or Qriocity, out of an abundance of caution we are advising you that your credit card number (excluding security code) and expiration date may have been obtained.” How can they be faulted for that? Would you rather them lie and say “you’re safe” or “they were compromised”?
This was a text book reaction to a large scale data breach and unlike MOST companies where we’d simply get an unexpected letter in the mail, we were somewhat kept in the look by the raised awareness that PSN being down leading them to say something. You don’t spill details during an investigation and these things take time. Hell, try checking out your computer after you’ve had a trojan installed and activated… now amplify that work by about a bajillion. Going through that stuff takes time.

This will be the year of wonders, PES 2012 will eclipse the rest
So what do we know about PES 2012 so far?
Adam(WENB):

The only thing I hear from Konami right now is new implementations in abundance, which while exciting, makes me worry sometimes.

I’ll say one thing, and everyone can take it how they want. It’s neither a negative or positive comment.
PES 2012, from what I know and hear and am told, is sounding like the most hardcore orientated football game I’ve ever known. Last year Jon Murphy said to me PES needs to look after the core fans, not so much going after the huge sales and acceptance from millions, but cater for the select crowd that play PES like a religion. PES 2012 is a true imagining of this statement.

The more I hear about PES 2012, the more it seems it’s not going to be that pick up and play experience, and it’s not going to be something you can play alongside another football game. PES 2011 required patience, time, and the commitment to master. PES 2012′s commitment levels sound insane in comparison.
This one is for the fans, the ones who look to PES for the football fix. I can’t see this being a game Konami are looking to expand their market, any new customers would simply be a bonus.

For e.g., I’m sure it’s no surprise to many that the next PES will have some key FIFA features incorporated into gameplay. But it’s not a copy and paste job, it’s Seabass doing his thing of taking an idea (and thanks to the extra time and investment) and adding a multitude of layers to it.
Expect a lot of that once the game is announced.
And the latest one from twitter:

1 more thing – Animations have been fixed!

Press Release:
HTC UNVEILS MULTIMEDIA SUPERPHONE, THE HTC SENSATION™ 4G
HTC brings one of its most advanced smartphones ever to the United States exclusively to T-Mobile customers
BELLEVUE, Wash. – April 12, 2011 – HTC Corporation, a global leader in mobile innovation and design, today introduced the HTC Sensation 4G, a smartphone that shines a spotlight on entertainment with HTC’s new HTC Watch™ video service. Crafted with premium design elements, the HTC Sensation 4G features the company’s latest customer-focused HTC Sense™ experience that puts people at the center by making their smartphones work in a more simple and natural way. The
HTC Sensation 4G will be available in the US exclusively at T-Mobile USA beginning this summer.“Consumers have quickly transformed smartphones into consumer lifestyle hubs that are pocket- sized entertainment centers that enable people to take their favorite multimedia content with them wherever they go. The new HTC Watch service makes it fun and easy for people to access premium movies and TV shows while on the go,” said Peter Chou, CEO of HTC Corporation. “The HTC Sensation 4G combines this great multimedia experience within the latest HTC Sense experience in a
premium device that delivers a powerful and unprecedented smartphone to our customers.”“The HTC Sensation 4G delivers the ultimate in speed and entertainment on America’s Largest 4G network,” said Andrew Sherrard, senior vice president of marketing for T-Mobile USA. “With a lightning-fast dual core processor and 4G speeds, customers will feel the difference when accessing rich media and content on the HTC Sensation 4G’s beautiful qHD display. We look forward to adding the HTC Sensation 4G to our industry-leading lineup of 4G smartphones.”
Premium Design and Materials
Tapping into HTC’s trademark design language, the HTC Sensation’s premium look and feel is enhanced by its rounded edges, aluminum unibody construction and the touch screen surface is protected by a contoured screen that feels more natural as a finger is glided across it. The 4.3-inch qHD display delivers high-resolution widescreen viewing and gives the HTC Sensation slender proportions that feel natural in a person’s hand. At the heart of the HTC Sensation beats a powerful,
1.2-gigahertz dual-core Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ processor, which enables gorgeous graphics and all-around fast performance.HTC Sense
Complementing the HTC Sensation’s premium design is the latest HTC Sense experience that boasts a host of new features and enhancements, helping people to have more fun and get more done. For instance, HTC Sense introduces a customizable active lockscreen experience that transforms the lockscreen into a real-time window to the most important information and content, such as social updates, photos, weather or stock updates that are viewed by simply turning on the display. In addition, the new active lockscreen becomes a customizable gateway that lets people quickly jump to the most used features, like making a phone call, sending an email, taking a picture or anything else with the same quick gesture usually used to unlock the phone. For instance, the camera can be launched right from the lock screen with a single motion, saving precious seconds when you’re trying to capture the action. Sharper graphics, vibrant animations and new widgets make HTC Sense look better than ever and, by continuing to focus on all of the aspects, both large and small, that make HTC Sense special, HTC introduces a more cinematic and immersive weather experience with stunning imagery and audible weather effects.HTC Sense also makes it easy to have fun by enabling people to capture and share special moments. The HTC Sensation’s 8-megapixel camera doesn’t just shoot gorgeous photos but, with the new instant capture feature, lets people capture the moments they want without worrying about missing or keeping up with the action. The HTC Sensation also shoots full HD video in 1080p resolution, with full stereo sound, at up to 30 frames a second, giving you smooth video that is better than many
other phones. With the new Video Trimmer tool, people can crop their clips to the perfect size for easy sharing with friends and family.HTC Watch
The HTC Sensation is a smartphone that is built from the ground up for a sophisticated, evolved multimedia experience. The 4.3″ widescreen display means that users can watch movies like they were meant to be seen – in their full cinematic glory, with no cropping or letterboxing. The HTC Sensation is also the first smartphone to feature HTC Watch – an application and service that puts an entire library of the latest, premium movies and TV shows right at your fingertips, letting people discover the latest video content in an easy and visually engaging way. HTC Watch uses progressive download technology that makes it possible to watch videos without waiting for a huge file to finish downloading. HTC Watch offers the choice of renting or buying videos, and if purchased, lets you watch them on up to five different HTC devices.
EDIT: New Hands on video by Phone Arena
New Barclays Premier league Kits 2011/2012
Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool and Man United kits:
Arsenal will be wearing the original Woolwich Crest to commemorate the upcoming 125 anniversary year for the club.
The main difference in the Man united kit is the collar redesign.
The Chelsea kit leaked on the net, no confirmation yet on whether its real or not.
The Liverpool kit could be Photoshopped, if not then it is a really good looking away kit, simple and clean
Fresh Blood
For my first post I’ll write about some of the new Techno products that have grabbed my attention (and most likely yours as well)
Firefox:
Massive fan of Mozilla’s web browser, probably the most fully featured browser out there (IMO). The only things missing in FF3 were:
- Speed
- Look
And with the latest update (4) it improved on those two things GREATLY. Its seriously fast (less memory print) and has a very simple, easy to use interface. This version will definitely bring Mozilla’s browser back on top.
Tablets:
iPad 2 (iOS), Motorola Xoom (Android), Advent Vega (Android), Blackberry Playbook, HP (WebOS).
So many tablets to choose from and so many more that will be arriving. iPad is leading the competition, everyone seems to be on the iPhone/Pad buzz, but the one that I’m looking forward to is the hTC Flyer:
It has the looks (patched up with uni body aluminum). It will have Android 2.4 (I’ve heard) Android 2.3 built into it with Sense on top (Sense is probably the best skin out of all the rest), and will be updated to version 3 in the near future. For the app hungry people, this is compatible with nearly all the android apps on the market unlike the Motorola Xoom. In terms of specs, the Flyer covers everything; a good processor, good cameras, and a very nice display.
Gaming:
Consoles
The successor to the PSP has been announced -> NGP. Spec wise this is a beast. Boasting a 4 Core CPU and multi touch OLED screen which will be running on the Android system.
Nintendo 3DS has been launched and is the fastest selling Nintendo handheld ever.
Games
Crysis 2 & Kill Zone 3 have been launched and have been big hits, both games boast the top Graphics on consoles to date and game-play wise have lived up to the hype. I have both games (have yet to play KillZone3) and am loving Crysis 2, the overall feel to the game is amazing. The artwork is class, it truly is. Have never played a game which offers top level graphics with a top level story line + top notch game play with a smooth all around online multiplayer mode. Definitely recommended to the FPS lovers
Upcoming
This is the time of year when football fans everywhere gear up for PES and FIFA news/rumors. For me its PES that I will be looking forward to (like always) and I think 2012 will be a brilliant game of football as PES 2011 is a great base to build upon and if Konami get things right, this game might actually surpass PES 5/6 <- the most beloved versions of PES. Yes it is a hard task but it is definitely achievable.

Well thats it for now. Thanks for reading!
PEACE
